BlueWater Ropes 8mm (5/16″) BlueWater II+ Static Rope. The rope that made us famous; BlueWater II+. Its design of double twist cabled sheath strands and double twist cabled core strands make it the best all around choice in static / low elongation ropes. We do not recommend this diameter for rappelling or life support applications due to lower tensile strength. When being used for a lifeline, the NFPA recommends a minimum of 4,500lbf and OSHA recommends a minimum of 5,000lbf.
