    MISSION GREEN
BlueWater Ropes has strived to be green for forty years and continues to be committed to making the best use of our planet’s resources. For our entire history we have conserved and recycled wherever we can. Admittedly, in the early years it was out of necessity, but by the mid 70’s we were committed to recycling as much as possible. Cardboard, copper wiring, pallets, rope ends, aluminum cans, scrap steel--you name it, anything that could be kept out of the landfill was directly recycled or donated to a recycling effort. It’s something we’ve believed in since our beginning. It was, and still is, the right thing to do. We’ve taken the following steps in order to reduce our impact on the environment:

  • Reduced process waste to less than half of one percent.
  • 100% of rope ends are up-cycled by non-profit organizations and programs.
  • Implemented energy efficient lighting initiative in 1985.
  • Eliminated “in print” consumer catalogs in lieu of electronic media to provide end users up–to-date information and specifications.
  • Dismantled 100 tons of Air Conditioning capacity and replaced with evaporative cooling systems.
  • Replaced forced air heating units with more efficient infrared technology.
  • Not lighting unused production areas.
  • Utilizing unbleached cardboard boxes.
  • Developing rainwater reclamation system.

We’re elated that recycling has become mainstream. We can only hope that this and future generations continue to develop lifestyles and new processes that further the conservation of our precious resources. Every little bit helps and together we can make a difference.
